BCAPL National Championships Becomes the BCAPL "World" Championships

10/30/2017

For 41 years, the season-ending BCA Pool League (BCAPL) championship event has been called the BCAPL National Championships. For many years, that was an accurate name.

However, that is not a true reflection of what this event is today. Over the years, the BCA Pool League has sanctioned leagues from many different countries, and each year numerous countries are represented at the championship event in Las Vegas. Therefore, it is time to change the name to reflect the event’s global participation.

The BCAPL World Championships is truly “The Greatest Pool Tournament in the World!”

Jeff, our records indicate that you played in League #302 back in 2006 but have not been a member of a BCA Pool League since that time. If this is correct, you will need to join a BCA Pool League in your area to play in the BCAPL divisions at this event. If you purchase a CSI Membership, you can play in the CSI Singles divisions only. This is explained in another blog post located here:

http://www.playcsipool.com/blog-2018-bcapl-wc/csi-members-no-longer-eligible-to-play-in-bca-pool-league-divisions

Please contact us if you have further questions. Thank you!

We are running the league here in Montana. In order to play in Vegas this 2017-2018 year... do we have to pay the 25 fee or 15 fee for membership.

Angel House,

The BCA Pool League sanction fee is $15 per person. All of the sanction information can be found at www.playcsipool.com/sanction-your-league or you can always call our office at 702-719-POOL (7665). Thank you!

My league is no longer sanctioned, but I have 4 weeks of play last season, and 12 weeks the previous season. Would I qualify to play in the 2018 event?

Chase,

Thank you for the message. In order to become eligible for the 2018 BCAPL World Championships, you must have at least eight (8) weeks played in a single division session during the 2017/2018 league year (June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2018). We hope this information helps.

If I play in two different leagues do I have to play for a new membership each time?

Patty,

If you play in two divisions of the same league (i.e. same league number and operator), you only pay one sanction fee. If you play in two entirely different leagues, you currently need to pay the sanction fee for each.

We are currently working on a plan to change this but for now, that is the policy. Thank you.

Hi, I’ve been trying to get my Fargo rating for the last few weeks, but have been unsuccessful. Nobody is returning emails. My local league operator said she sent everyone’s matches in last season to be rated, but I can’t find my, or any of my teammates, names in their system. I currently play in the Diablo Valley Pool League in the California Bay Area and a few years ago I played in a league (don’t remember the name) in Washington State. Is there any way to find out our Fargo rates so we know which division we need to register for in Las Vegas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Jason,

According to our records, you have no data in FargoRate. Therefore, you need a starter rating. Please send an email to amy@playcsipool.com and a starter rating will be assigned to you after some investigation is done.

There are a couple of statements in your message that we would like to look into. First, you said "I've been trying to get my Fargo Rating for the last few weeks....nobody is returning emails." What steps have you taken and who did you email? We want to ensure we didn't miss anything from you.

Secondly, you said "My local League Operator sent everyone's matches in." Who did the League Operator send them to and when were they sent? FargoRate will accept submitted data in certain situations but typically, they will not blindly enter simply data sent by a League Operator.

The best way for your league data to get into FargoRate is for your League Operator to use the brand new FargoRate league management software system called LMS. Our staff can help get your league set up at any time.

Thank you.

Hi,

First, let me start by saying, "Thank you" for replying so quickly. I'm a little surprised because of the lack of help I've received from not only FargoRate.com, but from my own league operators.

To answer your questions though...I've been sending emails to mpage@fargorate.com as that's the only contact information provided on the FargoRate website. As far as when, how or to whom my league operators "sent our matches to," I have no idea. I just sent them another email asking the same questions. It usually takes a while for them to respond.

I'm not sure if this helps, but our league number is #322 and my member number is 9900003826816

I'm going to send an email to amy@playcsipool and see if she can help as well.

Thanks again.

Jason,

Thank you for the clarification. We have reached out to FargoRate to determine why your emails were not answered. We are confident that your email to amy@playcsipool.com will be answered promptly.

Thank you for being part of the BCA Pool League.

I sent a text to my league operator and she said that she submitted our stats to the BCA and that the BCA will "just assign our Fargo Rating based off those submissions" I said I think they need to be submitted via your LMS and she said they don't use that system. It sounds like these are two entirely different things, BCA and FargoRate, but she is thinking they're one and the same? Is that how it works? Does submitting everything to BCA somehow work it's way into the FargoRate system or does a separate submission need to be made for that?

Thank you again for all your help and quick responses. Much appreciated.

Jason

Jason,

League stats are often used as one method to assign a starter rating. However, we conduct a full review of everyone without a Fargo Rating and attempt to get multiple sources of information when assigning a starter rating.

The very best way to ensure that all players have real Fargo Ratings based on performance instead of judgment is for your League Operator to begin using the new FargoRate league management system when the new session begins.

We hope this helps.

Lynor,

Section 1-3 of the current edition of "The Official Rules of CSI" states the following:

2. You may not wear any electronic headgear, use any electronic device, or voluntarily impede your hearing during a match. Examples include, but are not limited to:

a. Use of headphones, earphones, or earplugs of any kind, including
Bluetooth accessories, whether turned on or not. Hearing aids are permitted.

We hope this helps.

I have a heck of a time getting the system to accept my Gold division team during the online entry. Having 6 players, the system was quite picky on the selection of core vs sub players.
Note: The combination of my highest 5 players will not exceed the 3000 limit for Gold; however, if I understand the requirement correctly, I need my lowest Fargo ranks as sub so I am not in danger of bringing in a higher player.
That said, can this be corrected onsite... I am only referring which of my actual team players are listed as core vs subs; they are all qualified on my team.
